General Manager - Payments
Shape the Future of Embedded Payments in Travel Tech
Visit Group is a leading Nordic SaaS company building smart commerce platforms for the hospitality and experience industry. Our technology helps destinations, experience providers, and hotels sell more – by connecting booking, sales, and payments into one smooth flow for both merchants and their guests.
We’re now on the lookout for a commercially driven and strategically minded General Manager to join us and lead the way in growing our Payments vertical. In this role, you'll set the direction, drive results, and help shape the future of our integrated payments solution – all while making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes.
This is a key role with lots of room to influence and grow. Maybe you’ve worked with payments before, or maybe you bring experience from scaling a SaaS product – either way, if you’re curious, business-savvy and love a good challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
Why Now?
Payments is at the heart of our transformation. With our expanding customer base across travel, experience, and hospitality, embedded commerce is becoming a key driver of value. This is a unique opportunity to shape a critical part of Visit’s future and build a scalable omni-channel solution that supports both E-commerce and POS.
About the Role
You will take the lead in driving our Payments business, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure strong execution and alignment. While still an early-stage initiative, the Payments vertical already has an operational foundation, early market traction, and cross-functional collaboration in place. Your mission is to scale this into a standalone growth engine. You’ll be responsible for both strategic development and hands-on implementation, particularly in the early phase.
This is a key role in realising our vision of an omni-channel, embedded payment experience, serving the needs of travel tech merchants across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Commercial Ownership
- Drive top-line growth and bottom-line profitability.
- Take lead responsibility for the Payments vertical, collaborating closely with other senior leaders.
- Identify and secure new revenue streams and partnerships.
- Define and execute the go-to-market strategy in alignment with product roadmap and market trends, in collaboration with other GTM teams across Visit Group.
Pricing, Packaging & Partnership
- Lead pricing strategy and commercial packaging of our payments offerings.
- Ensure value-based pricing models that resonate with our customers and align with Visit’s business goals.
- Responsible for commercial agreements and partner contracts related to payments.
Product Positioning & Market Expansion
- Position our payment solutions as best-in-class, omni-channel offerings (covering both E-com and POS).
- Represent Visit Group in external forums, speak at conferences, engage with press, and contribute to thought leadership in both payments and travel tech.
Operational Leadership
- Build and manage a high-performing cross-functional team (sales, product, support, tech).
- Set up and streamline day-to-day operations for scalability and efficiency.
- Be highly hands-on in the early phase, personally involved in customer discussions, product decisions, and operational planning.
Who You Are
You combine strategic thinking with operational execution. You are just as comfortable crafting long-term vision as you are picking up the phone, jumping into a product workshop, or representing us at a conference.
You are:
- Strategic, but deeply hands-on, especially in the early build-up phase.
- Commercially driven with strong business acumen.
- Deeply connected in the payments industry, ideally with a background in both platform and provider sides.
- A confident communicator who enjoys speaking publicly and representing the business externally.
- Energized by ownership, autonomy, and fast execution.
- Naturally collaborative and a builder of trust across teams.
- Proven experience in the payments industry, ideally with exposure to both E-com and POS, and with a clear understanding of omni-channel payment solutions.
- Strong commercial and sales background with full-cycle business development experience.
- Solid understanding of payment technologies, industry standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Previous experience working in or with SaaS and/or travel tech is a major plus.
- Strong industry network within payments (bonus if also in travel tech).
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver measurable results.
Location
The role is preferably based at our headquarters in Gothenburg, where many key stakeholders are located. However, we are open to candidates based elsewhere in the Nordic region, provided you can travel regularly to Gothenburg and engage on-site when needed. The role also includes occasional travel across the Nordic region and Europe for partner meetings, market expansion, and external representation.
